As E was vacationing with her cousins, Ate D and I took the opportunity to clean her room. E usually takes the lead in cleaning her room but it takes 88x as long since she gets distracted with her toys (as kids do!) and I have to nag her. Which makes it 0% fun for both of us.
Ate D showed me a box full of legos mixed with chunks of oil pastel and crayons! *shudder* So we had to sift thru the entire box to get the oil pastel, crayons, and other non lego toys:
See my hands? Thankfully sorting it took only about 15 minutes with Ate Diday and I working together.
How to clean the legos you ask?
- Put them in a big pail with dishwashing liquid. I use Human Nature at home.
Swirl around with your hands!
- Swirl some more!
- Leave it for about an hour.
- Then drain and spray with water as many times as needed. I used her toy basket which had holes in it so it was easy.
Spread on a towel or blanket and let it air dry. I used our inabel blanket here which was about be laundered. It’s not very absorbent though.
Now wait for your daughter so you can patiently explain to her the virtues of keeping her stuff clean and in order. As if! Let her squirm until she feels guilty and apologizes and then patiently explain to her the virtues of keeping her stuff clean and in order.
How do you clean plastic toys?
